Featuring Nancy Shaver

describe what you do -
Artist and shop owner.  I make visual objects.

where were you photographed for this story?
Studio in home, landscape of home.

What are you working on at the moment?
I try to sell visual content, objects and textiles in my shop Henry in Hudson, New York.

Are you interested in the unseen?  What does spirituality mean to you?
Unseen spiritual activity is all around us.

Tell us about an art piece that you have created that resonates with you the most -
I find, at this point of my life in art making I like most of my work, if I do not like something I change it.  The most important aspect of work, is to think more through visual means.

An item of clothing -
I love clothes, always, since I was a child.  They must be comfortable and have texture, layers, shape, sometimes color, but always depth.

Isabel Toledo said that “Fashion is every woman’s language, every women’s tool.”: Interview Magazine in 2014, on the occasion of the introduction of her line of clothing for Lane Bryant.  I like that.

Nancy is wearing the Moon Coat CACAO in medium from AW19/20.
